Artist Statement:

I have been seriously involved in photography since the 1980’s, long before digital images were the norm. That was when I got my first 35mm film camera. In the beginning I developed my own film and created my own black and white and color prints in the darkroom. Now I shoot exclusively with an iPhone camera, adjusting the files in a photo editing program like Photoshop on my computer, or by using apps like Snapseed or Instagram on my phone. The process is different but my intentions are the same. I want to create striking photographs that are visually stimulating, memorable, and provide a different point of view of the world around us. My goal is to engage the viewer with a photo that makes them LOOK UP, take notice, and say “I like that”.
